The Rock Dojo is now offering after-school group guitar lessons at Capitol Hill Elementary School! The first day of class begins on October 3, 2019, from 2:15 P.M. – 3:15 P.M. in room 203. Capitol Hill Elementary does not sponsor the Rock Dojo, but it will host our after-school guitar lessons.
During the Rock Dojo After-School Group Guitar Lessons, Students will Learn:
One of the 5 Must-Know Concepts for Rock Guitar!
Technical exercises designed to improve finger strength, accuracy, and dexterity.
Two famous riffs on the Low-E string.
One group ensemble song.
- How to write rock riffs on guitar.
What are The 5 Must-Know Musical Concepts for Rock Guitar?
Although there are literally hundreds of chords, scales, and exercises students can learn, the truth is 80% of all songs can be played on the guitar using a hand full of musical concepts. Those concepts are found in every song, every genre, and every style of music. They show up again and again and again.
That’s why we call them The 5 Must-Know Musical Concepts for Rock Guitar! If students can take the time to master these must know musical concepts, then they can be empowered to play in a band, write their own music, or learn just about any song on the guitar.
What are Kids Saying about the Rock Dojo?
“I have been in Brian’s class for two years and I have really learned a lot. The songs he makes and teaches me are amazing! I have had an amazing experience and admire his belt system. He has inspired me a lot and if I didn’t have him as a guitar teacher, then I don’t think I would be playing the guitar right now.”– Ethan, age-12
